I have been running GPU grid with 1 x GTS 250, 1 x GT9600 and 1 x GT9500.
Today my GTX275 arrived. I installed it, and uninstalled old drivers, downloaded 185.18.10 (read that IT is the one for 275's , as no drivers come up in search at NVIDIA site).

Boinc manager sees CUDA device but every Work unit errored out almost immediately upon starting.

While a was "accepting" of the odd error on the smaller cards... 100% error on a new GTX275 is not good.
Any other people having probs?
am I using the wrong driver ??

Thanks in advance

veebee,

I've had an Asus GTX275 running nearly 24x7 for the past week without problems (Asus P5Q mobo, Q9550 CPU, 4GB RAM, WinXP Pro+SP3, GeForce 185.85 driver set and BOINC 6.6.28).

I have had an odd occurence with these particular GeForce drivers when rebooting the machine in that the screen resolution defaults to a screwy 1024x768 resolution (but mapped across my entire 24inch screen so I have to scroll from one side to the other for full view) but that's resolvable by resetting the screen resolution from the Windows desktop. I've seen similar things reported elsewhere so, on that basis, I think there's something slightly amiss with the drivers (I have uninstalled/reinstalled - and cleaned up using the Guru3D Driver Sweeper - several times but to no avail) but it's not causing major problems for me.

I'm not sure from your message whether you are trying to run more than one of these cards in the same machine at the same time. If that's the case, I suggest testing the GTX275 on its own with the latest version of BOINC (currently 6.6.28) and the latest NVidia driver set (185.85 - I got mine off the NVidia web site).

Good luck
Dave

sorry, ..

running just the one card on this quad. OS is Ubuntu 8.04 x64.

I get the same issue with sreen resolutions dropping occasionally (most times) on a reboot, bu tthe required res isn't there to select.
I have to shut down GDM and re-install the driver (2 or 3 minute task) on two odf my quads, yet one "keeps" the current driver active..

I am using boinc manager 6.4.5 , so will try upgrading and also try that driver.. thing is, boinc IS recognising the vid card... just erroring out on the gpugrid wu's..

Dave, the latest driver I can find on the nvidia site is 185.18.10 .. which is the one I'm using..

I have talked to someone who had similar probs. They suspended GPUgrid, restarted the machine, then restarted GPU grid.

I will try this.. as soon as it allows me to download WU's again... "reached limit of 4 WU's per day"...
