Message 10820 - Posted: 24 Jun 2009 | 12:56:09 UTC

When I attempt to request new tasks, I get the following error:

06/24/2009 05:41:24 GPUGRID Message from server: No work sent
06/24/2009 05:41:24 GPUGRID Message from server: Full-atom molecular dynamics on Cell processor is not available for your type of computer.

My system configuration is:
Windows Vista Ultimate x64 (SP3)
Intel C2Q 9550, stock clocked 2.83 GHz
8GB DDR2
Nvidia 9800GT, driver ver. 186.08.

I have completed other work units prior to this. Is this a temporary problem? TIA!

Try resetting the project, BOINC doesn't seem to do well with the debts if you are running a CPU task on the same computer. When I ran SETI and GPUGrid I would have to reset GPUGrid every couple of days to get it to download more WUs.

I updated the Nvidia driver to 186.18, the newest and rebooted after install. BOINC was able to get new tasks. If I run into the problem you've had, I'll try your solution.

Thanks!

Shadowlurker, just a remark: that's a long-standing problem of the BOINC clients >= 6.6.20, not GPU-Grid.
Peak, where'd you get SP3 for Vista? ;)

And now (10AM PDT) it reports server shut down for maintenance. Server status confirms this as well. Seems like you might be working on the server to address the problem. Hope so, as given the time of day, we might be seeing another 10 to 14 hours offline.

We're working on it. The messages on the "carb_0107" downloads are normal, we deleted these WUs but some client were not informed. Those of you experiencing the problem, can please "reset project"?

I have an active GPUGrid work unit nearing completion -- when it finishes I will do a reset

I've three almost identical PCs,one runs all ok,the second is ok but sometimes get the ".... is not available for your type of computer",the third one get that message any time, the only way to get 1 task is upload the complete task, detach it from the project and then join it again.
To reset the project is not enough.
This happens anytime it finish its task.
