How is it possible to reduce the amount of GPU processor use. My GPU seems to run at 100% all the time and I am getting temperatures of 88 degrees, too hot for my liking. I can set the CPU at 80% which is about right for my system but cant find an option similar for GPU.

You can't find it because there is no such option (yet). You could speed your fan up with Rivatuner, if you can stand the increased noise.

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought that I was going mad. Seems like a very essential option too leave out. I've never really had an issue with heat on my GPU before but I've just changed my power supply (bigger fan, turns slower) and we are having very warm weather here at the moment. I will give Rivatuner a try, have used it before to overclock. What would be a good setting for fan speed?

A good setting....as high as you can stand.

I set my fan speed at 100% and reduce it until the GPU temp starts to rise. Right now ~90% gets me a GPU temp of ~60 C.

That seems quite high, I've manually set mine (Geforce 8800 GT) at 45%. Case is quite good and on auto setting I've never heard the fan sound as loud as what it does at 45% on auto control so I should be OK. The worst that can happen is that I will wake up to a hung system!
