in BM Messages I've found this message:

9/9/2009 5:26:13 PM GPUGRID Message from server: ACEMD beta version is not available for your type of computer.

what is this Beta version??
I regularly run GPUGRID Wu.
My computer is an AMD 5200+ with Windows 64b, BM 6.10.4 64b version, driver 190.62

Could it be that you allowed the use of beta in your preferences? Nothing to worry about, in any case.

Yes I allowed beta in my preferences.
But the central point of my message is :

ACEMD beta version is not available for your type of computer

So my question is: which type of computer can run beta WUs ??

I think this just means that while you are allowing the acceptance of beta WU's, there are none from GPUGrid available to download (which makes sense).

We get a similar message when there are no GPU WU's (as opposed to PS3).

For now, beta is only available for Linux computers (may change soon).

well, i now have test apps checked so the project has a stable GTX 260 32-bit Vista machine to run a test app on.

BTW, I'd like to thank those running the beta app (again, only linux for now, but may change soon). It is really helpful for us to debug the distribution system.

If you run beta apps, expect errors (few) which could slow down your crunching. Please only switch beta on if you are prepared to such slowdowns (there is no need to report them).

What we put on beta applications is something that we have already tested internally, the point of beta app is to make sure it runs into the wild. Often, just before we then update the normal application in gpugrid.

So while the error rate might be higher, it is still something that it is considered by us to be stable enough to go out.
