I have about given up on GPUGRID since I only have one 250, but wanted to ask here first before I gave up. I ran GPUGRID for a long time (over 600,000 credits) and then suddenly the wu's won't run or run sooooo slow. What do y'all think changed that caused this? The info I found shows this project is iffy with the 250, but why did it run so great before?
Thanks much...

You could try using an older driver.

Another question (a bit of information, exactly) about GTS250.

There are many errors during processing under Linux (ACEMD 6.04), and WU requires a whole CPU core for running. Have tried this project under Win7 x64 (ACEMD 6.05). WU takes twice more time, "eats" only several percents of CPU, and there are no errors (at least for now)!

So now it seems that I need migrate back to Windows...
Or may be a Linux app need to be improved? I don't want pay such a huge amount for Microsoft product....

Win XP is better than Win7 for GPUGrid crunching.

So you mean that probably we can solve the problem with GTS 250 installing Win XP?

I was just saying XP is faster than Vista and Win7. If you are going to move to Windows, and you have XP, it is the better choice. No guarantee your card will work perfectly on Windows, but I did find some cards would not work on Vista & Win7 but worked fine on XP and Linux.
So there is a better chance of task working on XP than on W7/Vista and XP is faster.

For the next 4 weeks or so I have access to a GTS250. I restarted crunching here. It works, crunching ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.05 (cuda) wu's. Takes 22 to 30 h. Some wu's fail within the first 5 sec.
win7 64, E8400, 6.10.58, latest nVidia-driver.

Just a little piece to add: the GTS250 is relatively new, but still uses the same G92 chip that the 8800GT and many others used. There have been many reports of recent problems with those. So what ever may help these cards will also benefit GTS250.
The best bet are probably older drivers.. not sure, though.
