Hey guys,

I got a PNY geforce gtx 470 and I m rly proud of chrunching for ur project.
BUT I have some "problems"!
Like the title describes, my GPU Load is max.
75-80%. Is that normal? I did all recommended
Settings in the FAQ thread and I have the newest
version of the NVIDIA Driver.

Also sometimes I get this message from boinc:
19.05.2011 23:09:45 | GPUGRID | Fermi-class GPU not supported by cuda2.2

I read a little bit about this, but I dont get it why I m still getting this message. I thought it was fixed with app 6.13 !?!

best regards
Micha

Hi Micha, welcome to the Forums.

I think your setup is good.
Different tasks utilize the GPU to different extents. This also varies with the operating system. Win7 tends to be slower than XP (about 11% or more if the system is not well optimized).

On Win XP Toni tasks utilize 93 to 95% of my GTX470's. This is slightly higher that the IBUCH tasks; about 75% on a GTX260 Win7. Win7 is probably responsible for much of this reduction; I think that I was seeing around 83% on Win XP for IBUCH tasks.

Just ignore the message, "GPUGRID | Fermi-class GPU not supported by cuda2.2"

Glück,

Hi verlyol,

As posted, Win7 reduces GPU utilization considerably. I think you may also be CPU bound. If you are crunching other projects on the CPU you could try stopping them to see if your GPU utilization goes up ... you might be able to get +5% or maybe +10% more.
____________
Thanks - Steve

I just found the solution :-)

under win 7 you must disable the Aero interface and all the visual effects...

the gpu load increased from 65% to 86% !
