Found the new drivers (275.33) on nVidia's website. Downloaded and running well on a SLi GTX 460 rig. Also running on my GTX 260 SLi rig, but with some issues. Got a blue screen while playing with power settings. Finally got the rig to stabilize without SLi enabled. Running GPUGrid even through the summer heat. Thinking of upgrading these GTX 260s for Kepler iron, later this year if nVidia is on target for their release date. |

Ironed out the issues on the GTX260 SLi system, running GPUGrid like a champ. |

Stephenish, Good to hear you got it sorted.
Waiting to replacing your GTX260's with Kepler's when they appear would be a sound idea. Although I would not be to confident about seeing one before the end of the year, for those who have hung on to your GTX200's it is getting a bit late in the day for a GTX500 series move.
About to try 275.33 on a Win 2003 x64, i7-2600k, GTX470 system.

Thanks for the response skgiven, turns out I had to reinstall the drivers after cleaning up with Driver Sweeper. The previous drivers may not have been completely uninstalled. Did the whole operation in safe mode this time. Oh yeah, running Win 7 X64. |

I just upgraded from a GT 240 to GTX 570 and installed the newest drivers. BOINC is not downloading work units and when I look in messages below. Does anyone have a resolution?

Hi Paul,
You have 2 tasks in progress now.
Can only guess that you needed a system restart or you reinstalled the drivers.
I can see in your results where you changed the card (client detached) and that one task was Cancelled by server; remember, today is the app change over day, so expect the odd bump.

Tested 275.33 on a Win 2003 x64, i7-2600k, GTX470 system:
I got 2 system freezes. For the first I was able to hit the reset button and get up and going again, but on the second freeze it completely locked up, I had to hold the power button in for 4sec to force a shutdown (reset would not work).
Although this might be due to the driver, I would be inclined to put this down to the heat and possible increase in performance - I noticed the GPU utilization and temperatures seemed slightly higher, but I did release another CPU thread; could easily account for the 3 or 4 % decrease in task turnover time.
I would suggest people keep a close eye on their temps (Northern Hemisphere), increase their fan speed & clean the GPU and CPU fans if need be.
It would be useful for people to post up successes or problems specific to 275.33 (we are expecting a new app soon). |
