Donate @ Home question....

it appears that ATI FireStream cards (running both APP SDK 1.1 and the 1.2BETA) + Catalyst 12.1 and 12.3 are incompatible with Donate@Home...

any way to troubleshoot this with you all?

d

For the record, these are listed as:

ATI GPU 0: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series (Cypress) (CAL Version 1.4.1720, 4096MB available, 4063MB available, 5280 GFLOPS peak)

I have 4 of them installed.

Welcome to the forums, albeit the wrong one ;P
I guess you can't post to the donate@home forum, so I copied your post to there:

Cant find you over there as its hard to search for a user. Bombing out so quickly would seem to indicate the possibility that the drivers only loaded CAL, and no OpenCL driver attached to each card. Have a look in BOINC Client at the opening lines, you should see something similar to this (the ones below are for a 5970, so you should see four sets of similar entries not two):

09/04/2012 12:53:14 | | ATI GPU 0: Cypress (CAL version 1.4.1703, 1024MB, 991MB available, 4992 GFLOPS peak)
09/04/2012 12:53:14 | | ATI GPU 1: Cypress (CAL version 1.4.1703, 1024MB, 991MB available, 4992 GFLOPS peak)
09/04/2012 12:53:14 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 0: Cypress (driver version CAL 1.4.1703 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP (898.1), 1024MB, 991MB available)
09/04/2012 12:53:14 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 1: Cypress (driver version CAL 1.4.1703 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP (898.1), 1024MB, 991MB available)

.... are the OpenCL lines above showing in your BOINC Client Log?

Would help if you could post a link to a machine page so we can get at the stderr

Regards
Zy
