I can´t believe it , i have in one month about to pay more than
60,-€ (euros) to pay for electricty.

With taxes i pay here in gemany for 1 kw/h 0,30 € from 6 AM to 10PM
and for 1 kw/h 0,20 € from 10PM to 6 AM.

What pay u ?

Well since euro is worth more than $ its probably only about 3x. Sorry to hear those prices though. That's expensive. Volunteering is all about how much you're willing to give though, and every bit always helps.

Yes unfortune serverrhousing is gone very expensive too. So alternatives are very rare In a flat :/

ok, a flat here in germany isn´t an option, for sure u save money in the first year, but that is it , in the second year u pay normal rates.

In the city where I live in Canada the rate is very simple or somewhat complicated, depending on your choices. Also, we have 3 different companies you can buy electricity from which is supposed to create competition and reduce prices but they collaborate with the government to fix the prices anyway because they're all buddys and their common goal is to bleed the working man until he is nearly dead but allow him to live so he can be bled again tomorrow.

This web page from my electricity and natural supplier explains the price scheme. If you're willing to commit to a 5 year fixed price you can get electricity for $.080 cents per kwh. Our Canadian dollar is roughly equal to the US dollar. Alternatively you can go on a plan that allows your price to fluctuate with market conditions. Note that it costs $7 per month just to subscribe to the fluctuating price plan. Click the link at the bottom of that page to see the history of fluctuating prices beginning January 2011. Some months you would have paid as high as $.1281/kwh which is fairly cheap compared to Germany. We have huge coal, natural gas and oil deposits and there is maybe 2 nuclear reactors for generating electricity in all of Canada, both of which are thousands of kilometers from my city, thank the gods.

Electricty cost in each country depends on the mix of production. Solar is a very expensive way of generating electricity.

So i got the solution for my energy problems.
I undervolted my two GTX 460 at 875mV and stock frequencies.
So running Nathan FAX4 and PAOLA at the same time my energy consumtion
wend down from 517 watts to 282 watts !!! (without LCD monitor).

I hope it wont stop crunshing.

Why did i that ?

For sure i will never end up within the 24 hour bonus so i decided to
crunsh at normal frequencies an less power, just trying.
Then my electricity bill will be much much lower i think.

rantanplan, led monitors get better power usage. My energy star 32 inch gets 100 watts where an led gets 50. I just already have it :\

LEDs are the best! I just got a new LED monitor and an LED TV. They use half the power and produce almost 0 heat!! I converted them to run on 12 volts.

I've converted all the lighting in my house to LED lamps I built myself to run on 6 volts and will be converting my computers to run on 12 volts. My refrigerator is 12 volt. My furnace fan and clothes washing machine run off a wind powered hydraulic pump and motor with 12 volt assist. I built the wind generator and tower myself for about $1000 from scrap metal. The pump and motor I rebuilt from discarded items for about $20, mostly bearings and seals and shaft build up/turn down. With a little impeller case resurfacing they run more efficiently than they did when brand new.

I don't have a clothes dryer because they are a huge money waster. I hang the clothes to dry them and they last twice as long that way. Tumbling around in a hot dryer wears them out quickly, just look at all the lint in the lint trap. That used to be your clothing! Who needs clothes dried in 30 minutes?

I have a solar water heater that produces enough hot water for 6 months of the year. For the other 6 months the water heater runs on natural gas. The stove and oven run on natural gas too so no electricity required there.

This summer I am covering my entire roof with solar panels I built myself so I can switch entirely to 12 volts. The 220 volt line coming into my house will be disconnected and I will never pay them another cent. In 2 months I will be selling 12 volt power to my neighbor. In 2 years I will have recovered the cost of the solar panels and the wind generator.

The cost of conventional energy will never decrease, it will only increase. If you don't change your thinking and habits like Rantanplan and I have done you will be bled dry paying for energy. Learn how to reduce your consumption and how to harvest the free energy all around you.

Quite cool, I think. Lots of hydropower plants. Still some people tamper with their meters, but I would not bother. It is not burdensome to pay such huge money :-)

At the time of writing, the electricity bill is a bit high here in Mexico. I have a GTX690 dedicated to GPUGrid and it costs me about 40 US dollars per month (for the card only). I pay close to 80 US dollars all things considered in my rig. I could use a second GTX 690 I have installed but don't use it for crunching as paying 35 dollars more per month would be insane! shame...

Here in Ontario, Canada, electricity costs/kWh are as follows:

from 19:00h to 07:00h 11 cents/kWh
from 11:00h to 17:00h 18 cents kWh
from 07:00h to 11:00h and from 17:00h to 19:00h 21 cents/kWh

from Friday 19:00h to Monday 07:00h and on statutory holidays 11 cents kWh

For Heating-gas, Electricity, Water and Waste-Water I pay €265 ($330) per month (family: 3 adults, 1 Child) in a 100m² house (~1080 sqft) built in the early '90s.

0.03687 Euro per kwh last month here in Norway, dunno exact tax but as a rule of thumb its about the same as the electricity cost, so 0.07374 Euro total per kwh. But most of the year I heat my house with the heat from the computers (one server and a gaming rig), so the electricity isn't going to waste.

Average electricity cost is around US$100/month for my two bedroom apartment with two rigs running 24/7.

Got my actual Bill, it seems in Austria, Vienna (Wien Energie) its ~ 18,71cent per kWh. Last Year it was 17,97cent. All prices including TAX so they are the final payments.

Current price in UK via Utility Warehouse on their double gold tarrif (they tend to be at the low end of prices) is 13.572p per Kw-Hr plus 5% Tax charge.

That works out to $0.22 per kilowatt hour @a conservative exchange rate of $1.60 to a £ including Taxes.

My electricity rate is 10.35p/KWh ($0.169494) 24/7
I'm with NPower which is owned by Germanys RWE & is the cheapest available for me at present. I change suppliers frequently to get the best deal.

For me (UK), it's 23.625p for the first 225 kWh each quarter and then 12.587p for the rest. My 2 rigs are costing about £150 a month to run - although I do save a little on gas at this time of year as I only need the heating on on the coldest of days.

In 04/13 I reported I was paying $.08 CDN per kwh plus 5% sales tax here in the province of Alberta, Canada. We're still paying $.08. Our dollar has slipped a little and today $.08 CDN is equivalent to $.094 US and .684 €.

Queensland, Australia. Flat rate 20c/Kw. We are 240v instead of 110v so that makes a tiny difference.

somewhere around ¥35 per kWh ... wish it would be cheaper ...
