Not for me, just continuous downclocking to 50MHz!
If it's working, leave it that way!

What do you mean they don't improve it? New drivers are always coming out and Cuda 5 came out recently, too.

I'm sure they did improve something, it just doesn't show up in every application.

There are plenty of changes/improvements in the drivers but just nothing that will improve anyone's performance here; CUDA improvements wont make any difference until they are incorporated into a GPUGrid application.

CUDA improvements wont make any difference until they are incorporated into a GPUGrid application.

This is true for any new features. However, GPU-Grid uses some libraries provided by nVidia. These could lead to performance changes depending on driver versions - depending on what nVidia did.

I don't recall ever experiencing this. I've checked performance numerous times, subsequent to a driver update, but I've only ever seen an increase in stability and minor reduction in performance if any change, as well as problems (especially with downclocking and app crashing).
I know there are some libraries that get released prior to an announced cuda update that could in theory improve some specific performance, but I thought the app generally had to be recompiled to take advantage of these.

Ahh.. I mixed this up with CUDA updates. Jumping from one version to another nVidia might update the libraries. In this case a driver update is required to make it work, but is not actually the reason for the performance difference. It's the stuff which has to be compiled into the app.
