About an hour ago I uploaded a completed long-running WU. 10 minutes before, the next WU had downloaded, just the way it's behaved for years.

This time, when the new WU started, a new WU downloaded. I aborted it. I immediately got another!

What's going on??

The BOINC client on your computer is requesting that work. Check your local logs and settings.

Why would I check my local settings? I have long forgotten how to change them!!

The puzzle continues. I'm half way through a WU and another sits there, waiting...

I repeat - what's going on??

Why would I check my local settings?

To see if your cache is set to something like 2days; which would result in downloading two tasks, running one and having the other sit in the queue.

OK - help me out here, please.

I have NOT changed any of my BOINC setting in goodness-knows how many years, but I'm still getting new WUs downloaded soon after one starts.

Which options should I set, to what, so I get, as before, a new WU 10 minutes before the current one finishes.

Many thanks.

Try this,
Boinc Manager (Advanced View), Tools, Computing Preferences, Network Usage Tab,
Minimum Work Buffer (0.01)
Maximum additional work buffer (0.01).
