Hi,

I want to understand why Test Application for CPU MD is always running, and why is not attached to the computantional specifications that I defined on the web.

Thank you

Please verify that you have "use CPU" and "allow test applications" turned off in you preferences.

Thanks - Steve

I am also having problems with the Test Application for CPU MD 9.01 (mtsse2).

1. The projects have been running non-stop on my Intel Core i7-975 (Win7 Pro SP1), for over 24 hours. BOINC is set to switch projects every 90 minutes.

2. My GPUGRID profile disallows test applications.

3. Packets complete, but no progress is accrued.

This is my second post about this application, and I am beginning to get very angry. Getting the science right on these projects is critical, but since all of the computer time is a donation, it seems to me that honoring the wishes of the donors would rank kind of high in having a successful project.

Dont you have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" enabled? There are no WUs for GPU so maybe you are accepting work for CPU?

Also please verify that you have gone into GPUGRID preferences, under the topic "Run only the selected applications" and turn off (deselect) "Molecular Dynamics on CPU". For good measure, you might also turn off "Docking only CPU app".

Hope that helps.

No, I do not. That profile value is set to "No."

I haven't, because I don't typically visit the websites/forums and watch for new projects to sign up for so I leave my profiles set for All Projects. I'm perfectly happy doing CPU-only work for GPUGRID, that's not the problem. The problem is a test application, clearly labelled as such, being pushed to my computer against the settings of my profile. ACEMD beta is also selected, and I've not seen a WU from them, so I know it can be done.

I too have problems with Test Application for CPU MD always running, blocking any other Projects from getting a look in on my machine.

I've noted whats been said above, and changed settings on my GPUgrid profile so that only short and long GPU apps can run - no betas, no tests, no CPU apps.

If in 8 hrs time Test Application for CPU MD is running, I will suspend my participation in GPUGrid. Kind of an Xmas ill-will gesture.

Well as expected, GPUGrid just went right on ignoring every setting.

As a result I have suspended my participation.
