Message 46491 - Posted: 11 Feb 2017 | 8:45:14 UTC

I've delayed posting about this for too long out of sheer lazyness when I really just want to help this project.

I don't know much about troubleshooting this. All I know is that I got a GTX 1070, currently with the Geforce 378.49 driver (but no driver in the last few months have worked anyway), and this is the one and only constant error message I get:

<core_client_version>7.6.33</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
(unknown error) - exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135)
</message>
]]>

I leave all of my BOINC projects just working almost all the time and this is pretty much the only project that never works.

Any help in fixing this would be appreciated.

0xc0000135 is a very common Microsoft error code, defined as:

0xC0000135
STATUS_DLL_NOT_FOUND
{Unable To Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because %hs was not found. Reinstalling the application might fix this problem.

The complete list of DLLs you need for this project is

_tcl86.dll
_cufft64_80.dll
_cudart64_80.dll
_zlib1.dll
acemd.914-80.exe

My guess is that you might be missing _cufft64_80.dll: a lot of people had difficulty downloading that when the GTX 1070 application was first released (it's a big download, well over 100 MB), but I think those problems have been cured now.

The easiest solution is probably to use BOINC Manager to 'Reset' the GPUGrid project: this will delete all the currently downloaded files, and fetch a fresh set next time you are allocated work. Keep an eye open to make sure your antivirus program doesn't block the DLL.

I've done as instructed. I'll see if this works next time I have GPU Grip tasks to do, and will update if it's fixed. Thanks!

No dice, the same problem happens. My antivirus hasn't blocked anything, either.

It is the same for me with a GTX 970 running under Ubuntu 16.10.
All was fine until the PABLO_p53 work units downloaded starting around 18:15 UTC today. But the exit code is 158

core_client_version>7.6.33</core_client_version>
