Christmas Day, around 9:00 - 11:00 AM, 2010, I lost my grandfather. He was 71 years old.

My grandfather was sick for many years. It all started out through dialyses when I was only 1-2 years old. Then, a miracle happened, and my grandpa got a new kidney. He had issues with his previous kidneys(genetics). My grandfather was in this world until I was 12 years old. He died from Lung Cancer spreading through his body, Christmas Day, 2010. He was in hospice, and I will never forget his final day. Can't believe it's been seven years. I'm now 19 and it doesn't get easier, I just cope with the loss.

I will remember the many good times we've had for the rest of my life. The reason I initially joined this project was because of him, but now that I am in college working on a degree for Biology, I am more motivated than ever before to put my computer's to the test with this project. My grandmother, my grandpa's wife, and my parents are aware of me participating in this project. Heck, My grandma bought this computer for me (the core i7 7700 one), and I'm extremely thankful. However, I rarely play games, because I am so dedicated to helping research for illnesses.

I just thought I'd share my story of Christmas Day, and how it changed my life. I will enjoy today, but I will never forget.

To all those out there who lost someone to cancer, or anything else, I will keep you in my thoughts on this day, and every day.

Thank you to the staff and volunteers for making this project what it is. I hope to participate for many more years.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
