Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : ps3grid gpugrid data problem

I have a GeForce 9800gtx+ and connected to ps3grid.net as directed to by my account manager boincstats. The first work unit processed correctely and I received credit for the 9 hours it ran. Subsequent work units generated the error message that I was NOT a cell processor and needed to detach from ps3grid and attach to gpugrid. I received no credit for any of the 3 work units I then detached and attached as instructed to www.gpugrid.net and immediately received a boatload of computation errors until I hit the magic quota # and was refused more work units. I also get the error that the work units are not designed for my system.

Think I solved one of the problems. As requested, about after the 2nd failed WU, I detached from the bam! account manager and manually re-attached to gpugrid. However, even though I selected GPUGRID from the drop down list, the edit box showed the old ps3grid.net url. I failed to change ps3 to gpu. I have since changed to gpu but having exceeded the 8 error limit quota, it appears I will have to wait another 24 hours to see if this fixes the problem.

You get an initialization error, which would mean something about your config is wrong. Did you change anything else, reinstalled BOINC, different drivers? The WUs you were getting are GPU-WUs, so this has nothing to do with any possible PS3-confusion.

Fixed - as suggested in another post, I upgraded to 6.3.21 and rebooted. Had to wait 24 hours before I was allowed another work unit. I got 4 work units, selected No Additional Units, put 2 of the 3 waiting on suspension. After the first work unit successfully processed the 2nd one start OK and I then released all the remaining as it appears the system is back working.
