WCG launched their Covid-19 drug screening project together with The Scripps Institute. Come help find drugs that can treat Covid-19. By screening libraries of existing drugs as well as modified and de novo designs I believe this is the most important CPU BOINC project going as of today.

Additionally for GPUs folding@home has many work units now against Corona Virus. So that would be a good option.

you're expecting to get GPU work, that's what's wrong. WCG is a CPU-only project lol ____________

I get no GPU workFor GPU work I just started Quarantine@Home today. I posted the Linux install instructions in another thread. They also have a Windows version.

WCG launched their Covid-19 drug screening project together with The Scripps Institute. Come help find drugs that can treat Covid-19. By screening libraries of existing drugs as well as modified and de novo designs I believe this is the most important CPU BOINC project going as of today. In another thread about Quarantine@Home, I asked if you'd heard of WCG's Open Pandemics. Clearly you had! There's also Ibercivis, which at the moment is having some difficulties. All three seem to be doing similar work, that of screening libraries of compounds against specific targets. Ibercivis is looked at already-approved drugs of all kinds, Q@H is using the ZINC database, and WCG is using several databases. I hope the three are aware of one another and cooperating instead of competing. Right now I'm running several COVID-19 projects on a dozen or so old machines. I'm wondering if I should suspend GPUGrid, Rosetta, and F@H in order to focus on Q@H and WCG OP...

I'm wondering if I should suspend GPUGrid, Rosetta, and F@H in order to focus on Q@H and WCG OP...OpenPandemics is by far and away the most important BOINC project going now. Suicide inhibitors is a great approach for fighting this disease. I'd like to know more about Ibercivis but I don't speak Portuguese or Spanish. Their WUs range from 30 minutes to 2 days so maybe they're neophytes. If they'd explain their approach I'd be glad to dedicate some cores to them. Rosetta is doing some interesting stuff, I think, since they don't talk much. But protein engineering is going to take years, as they've said, to yield a human drug. A distant second to WCG OPN. BOINC@TACC is another example of how the National Science Foundation gives money to the server side and nothing to the proletariat. I refuse to work in a VirtualCatBox anyway. GG is up to something. My guess is they're building a library of protein fragments to use in building scaffolds, similar to Legos. They'll tell us in due time. They've done a lot of hard work improving their project and I'm sticking with them as my first choice for GPU work. I've decided Q@H is one guy's hobby-shop project and dropped it. I dropped F@H years ago due to having to deal with their bugs every day. Will try again if they move to BOINC. Just my two cents worth.
