But i want horse when i buy horse not in cowmeat products ^^ the problem was too with moslems who eat as example there own chicken kebab until the get informed it is not chicken only and mixed with pig ;) That's not nice. Here in Canada 30 years ago there was a restaurant chain called Ponderosa selling beef steak dinners for $5 which was 1/3 the price of any other restaurant. They claimed the reason they could give such a low price was because the beef was imported from Australia which they claimed produces beef much more efficiently and at much lower cost than Canadian beef. I knew it was BS. Eventually the real reason was revealed... the meat was actually kangaroo meat. No BS! Guys in Australia were slaughtering kangaroos, butchering them and selling the meat to Ponderosa restaurant chain very cheap claiming it was Australian beef. In fact the issue became a subject of debate in the Australian Parliament because the fiasco was giving a bad reputation to genuine Australian beef. ROFLMAO!! Oh those crazy Aussies :-) Apparently they didn't even bother hanging and bleeding the carcass or refrigerating it properly, they just cut it up right there in the field, LOL! I've eaten everything from rattlesnake to gopher (prairie dog), all good tucker, so I'm sure there must be a way to make a delicious meal from kangaroo too. Unfortunately Ponderosa never learned the secret. Maybe they should have asked the Aussies for the recipe. ____________ BOINC <<--- credit whores, pedants, alien hunters

What's the problem with horse meat after all? While horse meat is probably better for you, the supermarkets don't know what drugs were injected into the equine. That's the real issue. Some animal medicines are deadly to humans, others cause cancer, and some animals may have diseases that can pass to humans. Doctors would not recognise these. Unless animals are bread specifically for human consumption and the farms and abattoirs regulated properly, the meat should be presumed as not fit for eating. If the label says British Beef but its horse meat from Romania, you're not going to know if the horse was drinking from a river polluted with heavy metals, what it was eating, what diseases it has or what medicines it has in its system. I wonder if any supermarkets in the whole of Europe tested any of their products before this outcry? Tip of the iceberg, otherwise the media would not be playing it down with statements such as "traces of Horse/Pig DNA found" when some products have very high amounts of horse DNA (50 to 80%). Recently, I read what was printed on a box of tea after it was re-branded. It use to say Tea, but now says at least 30% Tea. No mention of what the rest is! ____________ FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help
