So...

1) I see that we have 7 days to return a result.

2) I have several PPC macs. One is a quad 2.5ghz G5.

3) YDL has a distro for Macs, I think.

4) If 1-3 all fit together, I could be crunching 4 results at once (assuming the project would up the current limit of 2 results).

Thoughts?

For the current application, we do not have enough task parallelism to run effectively on a PC/MAC. The Cell processor is crucial to get the results back quickly, although your machine would be already quite fast. Maybe in the future...

Yeah, and on top of that, the installation of YDL requires erasing the HD, installing YDL, and then re-installing OSX (if you still want it). I am not about to go through that headache. Oh well, it was just a thought.
