Hi all.
Been through all my running projects prefs and also the advanced prefs tab, all set to 4, 100% , 100% and yet only running 3 tasks + 1 cuda.
Have a q6600 and a 8800GT on vista 32. Boinc is 6.4.5 and running on 180.48 drivers.
Any thoughts, seems ashame to have the spare cycles going to waste.
P.S. cpu usage is 75% - 80%.

You could downgrade to 6.3.21, at least it works fine for me now.

I trashed 6.4.5 because I did not understand what it was doing to the cpu-usage / number of cores used. I tried it on GPUGRID, SETI Beta and SETI Main.

It is possible to use a cc_config.xml to set the number of cpus to x+1 where x is your available number of cores, but I was not doing very well with it using BOINC 6.4.5 (sometimes I got three task on my dual core plus one CUDA task on my GPU).

Maybe you could also use 6.5.0, I heard they reverted the 6.5.x series back to the 6.3.x codebase or so, but I have not tested it so far.

All BOINC versions from Berkeley can be found here:

Good luck and Merry Christmas!
Alex

That fixed it, thanks for that.
Had only installed 6.4.5 a couple of days ago.
