Hi there, people!

I just wanna know why I ALWAYS get this error on GPUGRID.

I've got a 9800GT (BIOS moded from 8800GT) and even with stock clocks this error appears.

Since I joined GPUGRID I don't had even one unit computed correctly.

I've tried different drivers too but not a chance...

The weird thing is that the CUDA client of SETI runs pretty good here, the problem is just with GPUGRID.

Thanks in advance!

The main suspect is BIOS... Seems to be so... Have you tried to load "normal" BIOS to your GPU?

I don't remember if I've already tried with the original bios. Anyway I'll try tomorrow and see if it works.

It'll be fast to recognize 'cause the error appears as soon as it starts to do the unit.

Thanks!

Agreed, try the stock BIOS. And btw, how's the temperature when GPU-Grid ramps up? You get errors at different positions in the files and the first reported WU of a batch lasted longer than the following ones. So in principle you can crunch, but after a short time something goes wrong.

I guess it's not the case, the temperature doesn't go further than 60ÂșC even in warm days.

Today I'll try that stock bios and let's see what happen.

Thanks!

That's it, ETA.

The BIOS Mod to 9800GT caused the problem. Now finally I'm crunching for GPUGRID. :D

Thanks a lot!

That's good to hear! And thanks for the feedback, we'll keep it in mind. And actually Rabinovitch was the first to point you to the bios ;)
