Ok, whats the trick for getting a second WU? I'm running boinc 6.4.5 under ubuntu 8.10 x64 with the 180.06 video driver. The only way I've found to get another wu is to detach/reattach. Anyone else having this problem?

Either Up your Resource Share to 25%-50% or Suspend your other Projects & set to NNW and up your Contact Time if need be, you should get some then. I don't have any problems keeping my Caches full doing that. You may need to do all 3, for what ever Reason the GPU Project demands a lot of Resource & Contact Time to keep giving you work.

This is the "Resource Share" problem where BOINC Manager does not distinguish the resources used by GPU only projects as distinct from CPU only projects ...

Dr. Anderson is supposed to be working on this in a very limited sense ... at least as far as his design statement takes us ...

The only workaround I have found that works for me is to run with a high resource share that creates a larger than life demand on the system so that the processing of GPU work will not lower the LTD in that only one task is in work at a time...

Try a share that raises the percentage used that is larger than the percentage of the throughput of your CPUs ... single core, the share has to be real large ...

With dual core, share to GPU Grid > 50%
Four core > 25%
Eight core > 12%

When we get a revised BOINC Manager this should not be needed any longer ... at least in theory ...

Of course, there is not any significant number of projects that use the GPU and so the load on any particular project will usually be 100% ... all GPU Grid or all SaH ...

Is 6.5.0 available for Linux? In my case it was much more well-behaved than a 6.4.x client and didn't need babysitting to fetch new work. Might be worth a try.
