Sorry if this is mentioned in another thread, but I could not find it. On one computer almost every WU I get fails with this error:

<core_client_version>6.4.5</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
Failed to set low-cpu sync mode
# Using CUDA device 0
Cuda error in file 'deviceQuery.cu' in line 59 : out of memory.

</stderr_txt>
]]>

This is on a 9800GTX 1GB. The computer runs Windows XP 64-bit with 6GB RAM.

What does it mean?

Usually you have to reboot if this error occurs. It's most commonly caused when you have GPU-Grid active during gaming and at some point the game requests so much GPU-memory that there's not enough left for GPU-Grid. Could also be caused by other demanding 3D applications.

Well, this is a work computer and it does no gaming, and uses no intensive 3D apps. I have also rebooted several times but the next work units still produce the same error.

Host is here.

The last couple have been fine; before that were heaps that all failed; before that a run that were fine, and before that more errors etc. It has been doing this all along and it is quite frustrating.

I remember there was a problem with XP 64 and people had to reboot it every few days. This has been fixed in the 182.x drivers. Which version do you use?

I think I had the 182 drivers already, but have just installed 182.08 and will see if the problem recurs.
