Hi,

I know nothing about linux, so I went for pendrive solution.

I got it all right (in several attempts) and now it can't connect to the internet.

The problem is my router doesn't act as DNS server, I rather type in DNS servers in TCP/IP in my computers at home. (Most likely I don't know how to configure the router correctly)

In either case, I need to tell linux where to look for DNS, and, after a long while googling, I found that I need to include them in etc/resolv.conf

The problem is I can't save the modifications because it says I don't have enough pormissions to do it.

I guess I need to login as root (sure?)(how should I do it? which is the password?) or perhaps I can edit the pendrive from another non-linux i.e. Windows computer (how?)

Regards

I also would like this question answered (for a different reason) but it doesn't look like we are going to get a reply. I am pretty sure at this point it will be necessary to install yellow dog linux in your case instead of the pen drive version. The pen drive version uses a read only image for just about everything but the boinc files.

I fianlly installed YDL. Not so hard, after all (though I took many attempts, because I burnt the DVD incorrectly the first time).

My PSĀ· y crunching OK now (well, not considering these days the project seems to have halted)

Thanks
