A word of warning.... Be very careful overclocking the CPU on those ASRock Supercomputer motherboards! (I'm aware of 2 failures from what I'd consider to be gentle overclocking. ie. 3.8GHz. The voltage reg solution is just not up to it. When the regs "blew" on mine, they also took the CPU with them to silicon heaven.)

asrock boards are cheap, but I'd prefer quality when using such expensive components

Agreed! When I built my first i7 4xGTX295 cruncher the Asus P6T7 hadn't been released. That ASRock board was the only game in town for 4x double spaced PCI-E x16 slots with a Core i7 proc. There is soon to be another choice with the new EVGA Classified on the i7 platform. AMD, the MSI K9A2 is well thought of and the MSI 790FX-GD70 is a very nice board. I'd certainly recommend it!
