Here ... the only other alternative is 6.10.7 of the 6.10.x versions ...

the .8 version is bad and .9 has not been tested and does not have any new and usable feature above and beyond what 6.10.7 has ...

For what it is worth I am moving from all the 6.6.x versions I had to 6.10.7 which I have been running for several days ...

The .4, .5, and .6 versions are also not recommended so please don't go there ... :)

Thanks for that, Paul.

I'm now running 6.10.7 fine, though it's no respecter of "Report Deadline" dates. The eight threads running Rosetta are now spread across three screens, rather than being the previous, tidy, first eight!

The tasks seem to get random sorts at odd intervals. I have not bothered to report that as I am far more interested in the way it does not properly handle debt numbers (reported, not acknowledged, and to this point not fixed in .9) ...

I usually sort on % complete downwards so the list shows the ones 100% done at the top and the rest in decreasing percentages. The only thing that this can occasion that is odd is some running NCI tasks won't show at the top till they are done ...

ANYHOO, glad you are going ...

Watch for the "version" threads, a number of people start them and idiots like me will try the versions and post our impressions. As a rule, unless you have a specific problem solved by the version don't upgrade ... and then do it slowly ... :)

Well... This morning my Core i7 fans were unusually quiet and the BOINC task bar icon had a red marker. I opened it and it was empty! No projects, no tasks, no message, no stats.

In the four days I've run 6.10.7 I've had one "error while computing" in GPUGRID, and perhaps 15% of Rosetta WUs failed with "compute error".

I went back to BOINC 6.6.38 and he found everything.

Weird.

Sorry to use technical language but we call this a "bad thing" ...

My only problem is that this is the first report ... all I can say is that 6.10.3, now .7 and just in the test queue .11 have all performed well for me ...

Well, besides all the stuff I complain about ...
