Hi, please look at the first (top) WU and you will understand my problem. I make from 32,000 to 36,666 credits a day with my GTX260(216). This WU took 24 hours to complete and I only got 10,902 credits. Please adjust my credit to reflect the appropriate points.

Thanking you in advance,
Gentilli.

As you can see, it took over 24h to return the result, nearly 36h.
You only recieve the bonus of 50% if you return the result before 24h have passed on the wall clock.

Well Saenger,
I don't know where you learned your math, but the WU took 24 hours to do and 8 to 12 hours of waiting in queue comes out to about 36 hours, so it would be normal to ask to be compensated for the extra long time it took to complete this WU and I would really like the project to acknowledge this.....................

This WU was returned
whithin 24 hours and was granted a bonus.
That's what you're talking about, right?
I think GPUgrid has an reasonable credit, MW ans Collatz C. (a bit) too high.
Einsteins 'underpays'.
But a lot, in credits, comes from the efficiency of the GPU's, used, IMO.
But wwhat are crdits, a measure in Cobblestones, which your hosts have computed.

Sorry, you got the wrong WU.
WU 3147756,
83,942.23 seconds, that works out to 24 hours..............

The name of this WU is g155r1-TONI_KKi4-6-200-RND3614_1
And the number is 1990477

Right now my GTX260 is working on 472-IBUCH_meta_otto_100923-2-20-RND1142
and the estimated completion time is 25+ hours.
I would really appreciate it if a Project Admin would tell me (soon) if I am going to get some 10,902 credits for this WU!!!!!!!

The standard points system allows you to complete a task within 5 days for standard credit. However, as it is very beneficial to the project that tasks are completed within 2days, from the time you download a task until you complete and report it, you can get two bonuses:

Normally if you complete the task (and report it) within 48h you get a 25% credit bonus.
If you complete a task (and report it) within 24h of downloading it you will get a 50% bonus instead.

If you download a task and don’t start to run it for 2 days, you will not get any bonus. For anyone in this situation, reduce your cache.
If you upload the task but do not report it, see this thread.

Credit can vary from task to task, so some tasks award more and some less. Credit is generally less for short tasks and more for longer tasks, so if you run a short task you might get a credit of 6K and a long task might see you get 13K.

This is a snapshot of the points my GTX260-216 is getting:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Run time s, CPU time, Claimed & Granted credit
Completed and validated 23,238.78 23,184.77 6,016.70 9,025.06 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)
Completed and validated 35,626.60 35,309.32 8,722.32 13,083.48 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)
Completed and validated 24,247.33 24,179.40 6,409.23 9,613.85 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)
Completed and validated 35,326.82 35,212.72 8,722.32 10,902.90 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)
Completed and validated 35,363.34 35,232.05 8,722.32 13,083.48 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)
Completed and validated 18,399.23 18,331.10 4,535.61 6,803.41 ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.04 (cuda)

As you can see, I have a broad range of points awarded – from 6.8K to 13K

I cannot tell how long your present task will take; it is in progress and no-one else has completed the same one, and I have not completed a similar task recently. However, I would suggest you allow it to finish, as there is a shortage of work.

Your completed TONI_KKi4 WU (1990477) was an exceptionally long task but you managed to report it in time to get the 25% bonus.

Hi everybody,

Well after much investigating, these are my conclusions.....
#1- Of all the machines that where running Aqua@Home WU (D-Wave's Iterative QUANtum Algorithms : Multi-Threaded), the GTX260 and 480 where running at about 15% capacity and that is why it took 24 hours to do a 5-8 hour WU.
#2- The smaller cards (HD 5770) where running at about 87% capacity.
#3- Upon pausing all the Aqua WU every GPU in question resumed full (97-99%) capacity.
#4- Now that there are no more Aqua WU running (I have replaced them with a variety of projects), I have no more problems exept with the GTX480.
#5- The GTX480 is now running at 94% capacity and if I pause all other projects it jumps to 99% capacity so I think the application might need some more fine tuning?.

So you can see that I have been a busy body.

Best regards,
Gentilli.

Aqua can be a real system hog. It’s the Aqua app that is responsible rather than the GPUGrid app.
If you run Aqua (or another CPU intensive project) at the same time as GPUGrid it is usually better to leave a CPU core/thread free:
Advanced Preferences, Processor Usage, on multi-processor systems use at most 99% of the processors. Of course when you do your systems background services and other running programs/apps will use much of the spare core.
