Hi all!

I computed one Workunit successfully in 18 Hours. Then i want a second WU but got only this error:

29.04.2011 12:07:37 GPUGRID Message from server: No work sent
29.04.2011 12:07:37 GPUGRID Message from server: (won't finish in time) BOINC runs 99.1% of time, computation enabled 100.0% of that

Dont understand why it is set to 100% cos i dont have 100% on any of my BOINC machines cos BOINC runs some seconds after windowslogin so 100% is unpossible.
What can i do now to get WUs again? :/

Thx for any help.

Boinc has calculated that you cannot finish a task in time.
This can depend on factors such as the size of your cache, and which other projects you also contribute to.
I suggest you suspend getting tasks for MW and set a very low cache.
Make sure you have only selected to crunch the normal length tasks.

Omg the easiest fault i could made..Had Einstein GPU Tasks running but only for about 3-4 Days Buffer (set to 10 days in BOINC options). So i through it can get the work and set it to high priority or something. I Suspend Einstein shortly and GPUGrid sent me a new task ^^ now i can resume einstein again to resume computing after finished the GPUGrid Tasks automaticly. thx!!! :)

Finish the GPUGrid tasks asap, as the credit system is time orientated; return inside one day for maximum (150%) credit, 2days for 125% credit, after that its just standard 100% credit. After about 2.5days the task gets sent out to someone else to increase the probability that it gets completed quickly.

I normally keep my cache very low (between 0.20 and 0.01 days).
If you are worried about not getting CPU tasks due to outages, select no more tasks for your GPU projects, then increase your cache. After you download CPU tasks, decrease your cache and then enable new tasks for your GPU projects.

Ah nice to know with the 2,5 days deadline (but i saw deadline in 5 days in boinc?). Because not every machine from me has internet over the Weekend (mobilstick). so the last sync is round 14:30 on friday and next sync is on monday ~7:30

But ok i will see tomorrow ^^ perhaps i make GPUGrid Mo-Fr and Fr-Mo Einstein on this machine ^^ or i try to leave the stick on the machines and workaround the 24h disconnect on it.

Thx for your Help :)

You can configure connectivity restrictions into Boinc Manager:

Boinc Manager (Advanced View)
Advanced, Preferences, Network Usage Tab

You will still get credit as long as the task is returned within 5days, it's just that the value to the project diminishes rapidly after 2days from when the task is sent out, and by around 2.5days the same task will have been re-issued.

You should use cc_config with report tasks immediately.
See the FAQ: Best configurations for GPUGRID thread.

Good luck,
