Hi all, and sorry for the following dumb question... If I remember correctly extra credits will be given this way:
- wu returned <24h => 50%, <48h => 25% (this applies only to the long ones)

Am I correct? Thank you all.

This seems to be controversial (some users think it's not...). Are you really sure about this?

The results from one set of WU are used to make the next set. To try and get them back quickly the project gives the bonus. As far as I understand Milkyway works in a similar way to GPUgrid but they (Milkyway) don't use a bonus system.

Most projects have a set of data that needs to be crunched regardless of the result.

the bonus is to compensate for the large length of the simulations in a very short time, 1 day.
If you don't finish in time, you are penalized by less credit than normal. if you do by a bit more.

This is due to the fact that we need results back quickly, so not just many, but large and fast as a supercomputer.

I understand the system and agree with it, the only question I have is: Does the bonus apply to all the workunits or only to the long ones?

Yes, all.

On occasions it doesn't happen, due to a bug in the server code, but normally all tasks reported within 24h of being sent get a 50% bonus.
