No one would, should, buy these if maxwell is coming in q1 14. If Maxwell is around the corner, it's pointless to bring those cards out. (I don't think that Maxwell will come out in q1 14.) However, they actually will bring those cards out, if it's the only measure they can take to win the "fastest (single-boarded) GPU in the world" title. If Maxwell will came out made on 28nm technology, it won't be much more energy efficient than Kepler.

If their older graphs still hold true. Maxwell could be an insane leap forward. With technology, these leaps of course tend to taper off, but seeing how far gpus have come in several years. I wouldn't be surprised.

I think it's possible that the GTX Titan Ultra and the GTX 790 would appear just before Christmas, or more likely Q1 2014.

Titan Ultra: I agree that nVidia would only bring this if AMD hits them hard. The performance crown means a lot to them.

NVidia getting hit from 2 sides, AMD and Intel's Xeon Phi in the HPC market. Did you guys catch the specs on the chip in the new Xbox?

Did you guys catch the specs on the chip in the new Xbox? Nice but unimpressive. It's about an HD7790 with a CPU which roughly equals a modern quad core, if al its 8 threads can be used well. MrS ____________ Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002

One interesting thing, some paranormal investigators discovered that the camera used for keeping track of the players works very well for detecting apparitions (that's if you believe in that stuff). I thought it was pretty cool, that's what I call a spin off.

Haha.. reminds me of this nice little gem. MJH wrote: We're not going there again... To formulate it a bit longer: supporting AMd GPUs via OpenCL itself would be a huge task for GPU-Grid, which has been talked about a lot in the past. And the new XBox chip being moderately powered and stuck in a console with lot's of possible software support issues on its own (you never know what will happen) doesn't really help. Hello: I have seen the results of tasks performed with GTX TITAN and equivalents compared with my GTX 770 and the difference is approximately 30% reduction in execution time, which is very true.

Yeah, the 770 is probably the most economic GPUGRID card right now, for single host crunchers. MJH

Last time I looked I thought a GTX670 for £188 was probably the best bang for buck, but prices vary from location to location and only a couple of months ago the obvious choice was the GTX660 (almost world wide). Mind you, the most basic 670 isn't the same as the most pimped. I certainly wouldn't go for a £205 GTX760 when a GTX670 costs less but does more. ____________ FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help

Hello: I have seen the results of tasks performed with GTX TITAN and equivalents compared with my GTX 770 and the difference is approximately 30% reduction in execution time, which is very true. Last month I paid €469 for my Asus GTX770 and in the Netherlands a Titan is available for €980. So for One Titan I can get two 770´s. The Titan is indeed not a lot faster and has only 1 fan. The 770 has two, and I have seen them with even 3 fans. So better cooling then a Titan I suppose. A GTX690 has the same price as a Titan in the Netherlands but has two processors, and thus does more work in about the same time. So that would be a better choice than a Titan. However I would like to have one. ____________ Greetings from TJ

But when one compares a 780 to a 770, it does get much better. Still not the best deal, but top of the line cards, titans, always carry a premium.

780 TI That's too bad that we don't know anything but its name. I hope it will be a GTX TITAN minus 3GB RAM. I've never urged AMD to release their new product at last as I am now.

780 TI According to the latest information leaked, the GTX 780 Ti will be a TITAN minus 3GB RAM and an SMX. (TITAN: 14 SMX, 780Ti: 13 SMX, 780: 12 SMX, 770/680: 8 SMX, 670/660Ti: 7 SMX; 1 SMX = 192 CUDA cores) I've checked the inf files of the 331.40 driver, and there is no device id 10DE - 1006 present in the nv4_disp.inf, but it's very easy to put such a line into that inf file, so this picture could be either fake or true. I hope it's true...

Should that 780Ti not be a PCIe 3.0, or is it MOBO related?
