Are there any settings I need to change to be able to use both cards? At present this pc is on Vista but only uses one card for work. I have downloaded the latest drivers for the cards. But do I need to download any Physics software to enable the CUDA system for both cards?

Sorry if this is noobish but I am new to using 2 cards.

Thanks.

Eric

First, make sure that SLI is disabled (It will only recognize one card with it enabled).

Second, since it is Vista, you will probably need to extend the desktop to the second card.

Third (possibly), you may need to plug a monitor into the second card to get it to initialize.

If you are running BOINC Manager prior to 6.5.0 you will also need to monkey with configuration files to get it to recognize and use the GPUs. Using 6.5.0 or later you will not.

*MY* recommendation, for what that is worth, is to use 6.5.0 ... though some are having success with the various versions of the 6.6.x I am watching the Alpha list now and there are still issues that you may not want to deal with ...

THAT said, 6.5.0 is not perfect either ... :(

But, it seems to be the best compromise between capability and ease of use. Oh, and bugs ... :)

Agreed on that Paul untill now it has been the best working version when doing also GPU applications and/or optimized applications.
Its ofcourse not the ultimate but until now has given me the least problems with the projects in combination with all the projects i do.
6.4.7 does download work while i have the project set to no new work on some projects that 6.5.0 does not all.
So every version is not perfect as all versions act/bug in another way depending on many factors.
But everytime another version fails i have been turning back to good old 6.5.0
:D

Thankyou for the replys and advice. The problem is now resolved. I have a P5Q Pro board and have extended the desktop to get the other card to work. This seems to have done the job as I am now able to run 2 gpugrid tasks together aswell as 3 other projects. I am running Boinc 6.4.5 and all appears well.
Once again, thanks a lot.

Eric.
