Just had a real wierd crash. I had a WU ready to go, started it up, and it bombed out within 3 seconds "no output file". Hmmm, oh well life's sweet pattern etc.

So I set preferences so it downloaded just the one, down she came, started up, poof, 3 secs later, bombs out moaning "no output file" ...... grrrr

Pauses for thought, close the manager down, cleans up temp files yaddie yadda, gave it a good housekeeping session.

Opens up to try one more time, and bang the PC froze at the end of the download - big red switch time. Restarts, opens the manager - and GPUGrid no longer exists.... its obviously not going to be my night ....

Closes manager down again, and looks at the GPUGrid directory, there appears to be a WU lurking in there, all seems normal. So opens up the manager, resynch with BAM! and it immediately went through Project Initialisation, it had become detached. Four WUs came spinning down, and crunching away happily.

Looking at my task list it seems as though it picked up the "lurking" WU when it detached, so there are no outstanding housekeeping bits to do, all is back to normal ....

Someone up there doesnt like me rofl :) Core temp was a happy 48 degrees, card temp was a happy 60 degrees, all normal ..... looks like they just released Gremlins4 :)

Alls well now, I'm just posting a wierd occurance in case its part of a wider pattern. Been running for 15 mins now, seems ok ..... time will tell I guess.

Regards
Zy

I just dug into the Task list - each one that went poof, has also gone bang with a wingman .... vague thought without expectation of reply, more a retorical statement ..... is it possible there is a bad batch lurking out there ??

Well, he managed ... :)

I think I had 6 or 7 total ...

BUt seem to have run through them pretty fast. At least they die right away ...

Sorry one more time.

This proofs two things:
One can't send new work at the end of a busy week just right before leaving the lab. And that "one" shall not use his own name to tag this work. ;)

However here we are, on a sunny Saturday morning babysitting the simulations...
